    Mallipattinam lighthouse was established by Government of India in the year of 2010, Mallipattinam is a coastal village in the Pattukottai Taluk of Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. The popular town Adirampattinam is located about 13 km to Mallipattinam lighthouse. Mallipattinam is 20.5 km distance from its Taluk Main Town Pattukottai and 68 km from its District Main City Thanjavur. Private and state government bus services available from Pattukottai to Mallipattinam in every hour. Mallipattinam lighthouse is located about 3.5 km away from the Mallipattinam bus stand in south side.

    The MANORA heritage monument is situated near lighthouse. The Manora fort was built by the last Maratha ruler Sarbendirarajan (alias) Serfoji II (1777 – 1832 CE) in 1814 – 1815 to commemorate the successful advance of the British over Napoleon Bonaparte (15 August 1769 – 5 May 1821) in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
