Dhanushkodi Lighthouse was commissioned on 14.05.2022. It is situated on one of the extreme ends of India and 30 Kms away from Sri Lanka. The 49 Meter Dhanushkodi Lighthouse is built on tip of Pamban Island and 19 Kms from Rameswaram Town, near to old dilapidated Railway Station and Church. The Lighthouse is the first exemplary tall permanent structure erected as of now to serve the Nation at Dhanushkodi. The Dhanushkodi Lighthouse is flanked by Palk Strait on one side and Gulf of Mannar on the other. The Lighthouse is very beneficial to the fishing activities of Fisherfolks on both sides of the sea for their safe passage to Dhanushkodi. It has a Visitors Gallery of 360° view at a height of 42 meter which provides scenic beauty of in and around the Island.
