The Lighthouse is situated near Antervedi Village. Antervedi is renowned as a significant religious pilgrimage site, particularly for its iconic Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple. The Lighthouse is about 3 km away from The Temple. Antervedi name translates to "between the Vedika" or "sacrificial ground," referring to a ritual performed by Lord Brahma, according to one legend. The Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located in Andhra Pradesh, India. It's situated near the mouth of the Vasishta Godavari River, which empties into the Bay of Bengal. The Square Masonry Tower type Lighthouse was commissioned on 28-06-1971 has a height of 26 Meters and has a color scheme of Red & White Bands. The 2.5m diameter G.I lantern house has 4 panels of revolving type optic with 300mm size, which provides a Luminous range of 27 Nautical Miles and Geographical range of 15.5 Nautical Miles. Now, the Main Light comprises of a cluster of 03 Nos of 150W/230V Metal Halide Lamps with dual stepper motor (20Kg.cm) assembly with controller as a drive system which exhibits 2 white flashes for every 15 seconds providing navigational aid to the mariners.
